What Crypto Can You Deposit on Polymarket?

Polymarket's native deposit currency is USDC on the Polygon network. You cannot deposit ETH, BTC, or other cryptocurrencies directly. However, UK users who hold other crypto can easily swap to USDC via a DEX or centralised exchange before depositing.

How to Convert ETH to USDC for Polymarket

  • Via a CEX (easiest): Sell ETH for USDC on Coinbase or Kraken, then withdraw USDC on Polygon
  • Via Uniswap on Polygon: Bridge ETH to Polygon using the Polygon bridge, then swap on Uniswap for USDC
  • Via 1inch: Aggregates the best swap rates across multiple DEXes on Polygon

USDC Networks: Polygon vs Ethereum

Polymarket uses Polygon USDC (native, not bridged). Make sure you are sending USDC on the Polygon network, not Ethereum mainnet. Sending Ethereum-based USDC to a Polygon address will result in loss of funds.

  • ✅ Polygon USDC (MATIC network) → use this
  • ⚠️ Ethereum USDC (ERC-20) → requires bridging before use on Polymarket

Can You Deposit BTC on Polymarket?

Not directly. Convert BTC to USDC on a UK exchange first, then transfer USDC on Polygon. The process takes under 30 minutes once your exchange account is verified.

Minimum Crypto Deposit

Polymarket has no enforced minimum. A practical minimum is around $5 in USDC to cover gas and still have meaningful trading capital.
